Celiac Travel Tips & Maps

Finding safe places to eat while traveling is a big challenge for a family with celiac kids. We are a family of five, so it's really important that we not only find safe food for our two gluten free children, but that we also find delicious options that everyone will be pleased with! Below are our curated maps and top safe restaurants. I created these by cross referencing Google Reviews, the Find Me Gluten Free App, Wheatless Wanderlust city guides, local groups such as the AIC (Italian Coeliac Association).

Accommodations & Prep

When traveling with celiac children we are always looking for hotels that have a kitchenette or a full service apartment with a kitchen or an apartment rental as this gives us more flexibiility to go to local markets and grocery stores to find gluten free snacks, breakfast or lunch items. Depending on the city or country we are visiting we sometimes bring some easy starters with us such as a couple of boxes of gluten free pasta, a box of granola bars or meat sticks. There is nothing worse than hungry children!
